Grey Fence and Gate Stained Dark Brown in Brampton
A wood privacy fence and gate on a corner lot in Brampton, weathered grey and uneven. We sanded the fence and gate, then stained everything in a rich dark brown for a clean, uniform look from the street.
The fence: grey and weathered
This wood privacy fence runs along the side of a corner-lot home in Brampton, with a walk-through gate at the path and two fence sections either side, all clearly visible from the street. The wood had never been protected or had lost its finish, and sun and rain had turned it grey and blotchy, with darker water marks along the bottom boards and rails.
Sanding the fence and gate
We sanded the boards, posts, rails and caps on the fence sections and the gate, removing the grey weathered layer so the stain could soak evenly into fresh wood.
Dark brown fence stain
We then stained the whole fence and gate in a rich dark brown. The colour hides the grey for good, matches the brick of the house and gives the corner lot a clean, finished look from the sidewalk. Staining also protects the wood from moisture, so the fence lasts longer.
The result
A uniform, deep brown fence and gate that looks almost new, protected from the weather and needing only a maintenance coat every few years.
