Grey Fence Brought Back to Life in Uxbridge
A wood privacy fence and gate on a corner lot in Uxbridge, turned grey and dirty with years of weather. We cleaned it with wood cleaner and power washed it, bringing the natural wood colour back without replacing a single board.
The fence: grey and weathered
This wood privacy fence runs along the side of a corner-lot home in Uxbridge, with a gate at the house and sections stepping down the slope toward the street. Years of sun, rain and dirt had turned the wood a dull, silvery grey, so it looked much older than it was, especially next to a newer gate beside it.
Wood cleaner and power washing
We applied a wood cleaner to the fence boards, rails, posts and gate to break down the grey weathered layer, dirt and mildew, then power washed everything. The difference is clear in the side-by-side photo: the washed section on the right is bright and warm, while the unwashed section next to it is still dark and grey.
The result
The fence and gate got their natural wood colour back and look years younger, all without replacing a single board. Cleaning is also the right first step before staining: once the wood is clean and dry, a stain soaks in evenly and lasts longer.
